Froglife, Highfields

Froglife is a national charity that is dedicated to supporting the conservation of the UK’s native reptiles and amphibians. Our project is about getting people out and about in nature and supporting conservation activities here in Yorkshire. We’ll create and restore 60 ponds as well as creating habitats on the land that will support our reptiles and amphibians. The new and restored ponds will be connected by wildlife corridors, stepping stones of wildlife friendly habitats, that will enable wildlife to move safely around the region.

Froglife will be showing you how to make your own clay frog!

Don Catchment Rivers Trust, Highfields

Find our tent to find out all about rivers and how you can help protect them! Learn about the creatures that live underwater, what they tell us about river health and how we can spot signs of pollution! Make your own dragonfly to take home.

Castle Hills Primary Academy's River Bunting: The river bunting was created by key stage two from Castle Hills Primary Academy who joined DCRT on a river dipping experience and learnt about the creatures that live in the river. Pupils created the bunting flags using block-printing, with many taking inspiration from their river visit and the nature they saw. The bunting will be used to decorate Castle Hills Primary Academy's forest school area after the festival.
