WHAT IS THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHT?
Doncaster Festival of Light is a free cultural event for the community of Doncaster. We strive to push boundaries and deliver a unique high quality event that we can all be proud of. This is about audiences connecting to joy, embracing experiences and participatory moments. Culture belongs to everyone.

Open from 4:30pm-8:30pm.
WHO MAKES THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHT HAPPEN?
Right Up Our Street working collaboratively with our Community Festival Steering Group. This ensures that programming is relevant and led by the community of Doncaster.
Right Up Our Street is an Arts Council Funded Community Arts Project and is a network of people across the City of Doncaster creating and being a part of brilliant art and culture.
WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHT TAKING PLACE?
The Doncaster Festival of Light will be held at the Doncaster Corn Exchange this year. The address: Market Place, Doncaster, DN1 1NG.
DO I NEED TO BOOK A TICKET TO VISIT THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHT?
The Doncaster Festival of Light is a ticketed event and will operate in half hour slots. Tickets are available to book here.
Tickets are available to book in categories. For Doncaster Residents the festival is free, for Non-Doncaster Adult residents tickets are £5.00 each. All under 18’s are free. You may be asked for proof of postcode.
If you’re a Doncaster Resident and your ticket is free there is an option to Donate. All donations go towards continuing the delivery of our charity led events. Our suggested donation amount is £5.00 per ticket.
BAG CHECKS
We will be operating bag checks at the entrance on arrival of the event. Please do not bring a bag larger than A4 size.

WHERE CAN I ACCESS FOOD & DRINK?
The Doncaster Wool Market is a 1 Minute walk from the Corn Exchange and has a fantastic offer of food and drink available. Please note the Wool Market is open Wednesday - Sunday. Find out more here.

WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?
There are several car park options in the City Centre that are available. This is the one closest to the Corn Exchange.
The Markets Car Park (2 Minute Walk to the Corn Exchange) - Disabled Spaces and Electric Car Charging.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Access dogs are welcome onsite, however due to the limited visibility within Doncaster Corn Exchange we sadly aren’t able to accommodate dogs.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING ONSITE
Please note that photography and filming will take place during the festival. The material may be used in social media, in promotional videos and other publicity materials, both off and online. If you do not wish to appear in Right Up Our Street promotional materials, or have any other queries or concerns, please speak to a member of the Right Up Our Street Team.
Please note that any photography that is taken during the exhibition cannot be reproduced and/or printed for commercial gain.
How long does a visit typically take?
We recommend giving yourself at least half an hour to experience the artwork and engage with the activities in the space. You are free to spend as little or as long at the Doncaster Festival of Light.
The performance is on a continuous loop.
Is the event suitable for young children?
Yes the event is accessible to all ages.
Can I take photos or videos?
Yes, please do take photos and videos of the artwork and event. If you upload on social media make sure to tag us @doncasterfestivaloflight and @rightupourstreet.
Can I get a refund or change my time slot?
Yes, please email hello@rightupourstreet.org.uk with your name, ticket reference number and query so we can support you with the refund or change.
What happens if I arrive late for my slot?
That’s no problem, you will still be able to visit the exhibition. Please note there may be a short wait if the venue is at capacity and the latest time you can access the exhibition will be 8:15pm.
Is group booking available (schools, community groups)?
Yes, for any bookings over 10 please email hello@rightupourstreet.org.uk - we would be happy to help you organise a time to visit.
WEATHER
As the artwork is situated inside The Corn Exchange, wet weather should not impact our event. However if you are concerned we will make any announcements regarding changed to delivery on our social media.
WHO FUNDS THE DONCASTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHT?
Our organisation is primarily funded by Arts Council England (National Lottery Players) with support from Doncaster City Council.

The data collected allows us to do two things. As a charity we work hard to ensure that we are reaching all communities within Doncaster and that we are also supporting any access needs that they may have. The data collected is anonymised and shared with our funders, Arts Council England, to ensure that we as a City and Right Up Our Street can continue to apply for and benefit from national funding within Doncaster.
