Creative Producers
A partnership with Abandon normal devices Festival
Creative Producers is a programme run by Right Up Our Street in partnership with Abandon Normal Devises Festival and artist Jazmin Morris. It's made up of seven young people who are interested in the creative industries and want hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience of how a festival is programmed and delivered.
Since April, the group has been meeting once a month to learn new skills from industry practitioners. They've covered event interview technique and vox pops with David8 Photography, and game design with artists Jazmin Morris and Ama Dogbe. Alongside this training, they've also been supporting Jazmin with the development of her new artwork.
That artwork, Northern Passage: A Quest To Hopian, is an interactive three-level game inspired by real locations across both Barnsley and Doncaster, transforming familiar spaces into vibrant speculative worlds built around care, knowledge and joy. After debuting at AND. Festival in Barnsley (25–27 September 2026), it will also feature at this year's Doncaster Festival of Light.
The Creative Producers will be on-site at both festivals, supporting delivery and collecting vox pops and audience reactions — putting the skills they've learned into practice in front of a live festival audience.
