Cosy Memories
With Keeley Lane and Mexborough Care Homes
Cosy Memories is a film project we are in the process of creating with Keeley Lane of Buglight Theatre and local heritage groups, stemming from past projects with Cosy Cinema. We are engaging with older members of the Mexborough Community living in Care Homes and asking for memories they may have in association with the cinemas that used to be around in Mexborough. Keeley in turn will make a film using their responses.
Keeley Lane interviewed Brian Blessed, who was born in Mexborough at the start of this project. You can watch his hello here:
Working with Care Homes in Mexborough, we sent out letters to their residents asking them questions such as
‘Did you meet any interesting people at the cinema? Maybe the staff, new friends, new love?’
‘Tell us about your favourite memory you shared at the cinemas. Who were you with? What did you go to see?’
‘What was your favourite film growing up? Has it changed? If so, what is your favourite film now?’
