6pm - 8pm

Right Up Out Street HQ, 28 Scot Lane

Memory Lane: An evening sharing & celebrating African-Caribbean nightlife in Doncaster

Join us for an evening of food, music, & reminiscing as we go down memory lane and share our stories of the Black experience of Doncaster nightlife between 1970 - 2000.

Where were the best spots, who were the hottest DJs, what are the stories you keep retelling years later?

Do you have any items from your heydays: drinks menus, event posters, bar mats, or ticket stubs that you've kept years later -  your stories and memorabilia could be included in an exhibition celebrating the history of Doncaster's nightlife scene next Spring.

We will also be joined by Heritage Doncaster who are interested in creating a display full of objects and memorabilia from Doncaster nightlife memories.

A word from Heritage Doncaster:

“We’re gearing up for a Children of the Night exhibition at Danum Gallery, Library and Museum next year and looking to borrow things to display! Chat with Heritage Doncaster staff on the night about what you may have to share and find out what is involved in loaning an object for display. You’ll also be able to express an interest in contributing to an oral history archive about nightlife memories too!”
