Fast Trax Workshop with GSD
The session was ideal for ages 14–25 and took place on Monday 21st July from 1:30pm–3:00pm. Participants shared their musical inspirations and creative goals, exploring songwriting, production, and video. Participants only needed to bring their passion for music, as all other materials were provided.

The session was ideal for families and all ages and took place on Tuesday 22 July from 10:30am–12:30pm as part of #TeamWilderTuesdays. DIY Light Box Animation
The session was suitable for ages 10+, with colouring and craft activities available for younger children or siblings. Participants explored creative storytelling using light and shadow, watched live demonstrations showing how light boxes, cameras, and everyday materials created animations, and worked in small groups to produce stop-motion or shadow animations.
Roots to Renewal - Up-cycling with Nature
During the hands-on session, participants learned a range of eco-printing techniques using leaves, flowers, and other natural materials to create unique fabric prints. They explored how foraged plants, food waste, and garden finds could be transformed into beautiful patterns, giving new life to textiles that might otherwise have gone to waste. No previous experience was needed, and all materials were provided. Attendees connected with others while creating naturally printed textiles and garments and learning about sustainable fashion and local plants.
Brilliant Bees
As part of #TeamWilderTuesdays, participants learned about bees and other pollinators, discovering different species and ways to help them thrive. They crafted bee homes to take home or donate to the community garden and made wildflower seed balls to create pollinator corridors in their local area.
Roots to Renewal - Up-cycling with Nature with a digital twist
The hands-on session took place on Monday 4th August from 10:00am–12:00pm. Participants explored eco-printing techniques using leaves, flowers, and natural materials, transforming foraged plants, food waste, and garden finds into unique fabric patterns. They experimented with texture and surface effects, designed digital wearable garments inspired by their creations, and shared these designs with others. Digital wearables were showcased alongside physical pieces at the Community Fashion Show on 8th November. No prior experience was needed, and all materials were provided.
Water for Wildlife
The session was ideal for families and all ages and took place on Tuesday 5 August from 10:30am–12:30pm as part of #TeamWilderTuesdays. Participants learned creative ways to add water features to outdoor spaces of all sizes and took part in hands-on making activities, creating projects such as a bee or butterfly drinking station, a hoverfly lagoon, or a mini container pond to take home.
Stories of You with GSD
Participants shared memories, experiences, and moments that shaped them, creating a safe space where voices could shine and everyday stories became powerful poetry. They learned techniques to transform personal experiences into poems and lyrics, drew inspiration from contemporary poets and songwriters, and developed their own creative style. Sessions concluded with sharing new pieces and celebrating each participant’s unique voice.
Roots to Renewal - World Women Wellbeing with Hamra Alam
These sessions focused on up-cycling existing textiles, accessories, or garments into something new and unique, encouraging attendees to be part of the wider Roots to Renewal project, including the Fashion Show on 8th November at Danum Gallery. All garments made were kept and either displayed, or participants had the opportunity to walk the catwalk or simply attend as spectators if they wished. The sessions were hands-on and creative, giving everyone the opportunity to become a fashion designer by making garments for the catwalk.
