Off the Shelf
Community organisation GSD (General Social Development) were approached by Right Up Our Street to develop a project supported by Off the Shelf Festival of Words, to create something that’s important to them as a group, a wider movement, or feels relevant to the new City of Doncaster.
GSD have collaborated with Balby and Mexborough’s Read 2 Write poetry group for the project.
Initially the two groups met in RUOS HQ and shared their creative process with each other which inspired conversations about how that process can differ across generations and how this can effect artistic approaches.
The groups were tasked with going away and writing a stanza that would ultimately be pieced together in a collective piece of writing.
GSD and Read 2 Write come togetheron Friday 27th of January 6pm-8pm at the Unitarian Church for a Free performance, to share their work with a wider audience.
Quotes have been taken from this newly written piece and have been printed on T-Shirts and Beer Mats and have been designed by Raspi Arts.
